Questions? We're here to help! Here are some answers to some of our more popular questions. If you need further assistance, we encourage you to reach out and connect with us directly. We're happy to help!

What are your tuition fees?

GlenOak's programming is competitively priced as compared to area independent schools. Given the variety of programming we offer, we don't have just one standard tuition fee. Therefore we encourage you to book a tour to see our school and discuss options available.

Do students wear uniforms?

Yes, they do! Since our inception we have opted for a casual uniform made of navy crested polos and beige pants. We're currently in the process of re-evaluating our uniform and making some changes that will see a slightly more formal, but more durable uniform moving forward.

Are your teachers certified?

They most certainly are! GlenOak's team of educators is made up of certified teachers and in the Kindergarten program, Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECEs). We take the qualifications and credentials of our team seriously because we know that our commitment to excellence amongst our staff translates to student success.

Do you have a field trip fee?

At GlenOak, Learning Engagements (aka field trips) are an important part of our programming. Any Learning Engagement that takes place within Mississauga is included in tuition fees; however, those that take place outside of the city limits are typically no more than $20 to $25. This excludes our Fall and Spring overnight trips for our senior students.

Do you have a lunch program?

We absolutely do! This past year we had Pizza Lunch Tuesdays where students were engaged in the preparation of their own homemade pizzas. These pizzas were made to order, and we accommodated for special diets and allergies.

Currently, we're in negotiation with a local provider to make homemade lunches each day. These nutritious options will not only be convenient for parents, but aligns with our commitment to fostering a close-knit school community.

Do you have part-time attendance options?

Recognizing that attending an independent school can be costly, we do offer families a part-time attendance option of no less than 50%. We encourage you to discuss this option with us when you tour our facility.

GlenOak is still a growing school, will my child have an opportunity to socialize?

Absolutely! While we may be a small school, our size allows students to build and hone their social skills with one another in an intimate and accepting environment. Like any other school, friendships are forged in class, during group activities, and on the playground. Students have opportunities to get together after class and enjoy close friendships.

Do you offer any clubs or extracurricular activities?

Indeed we do! Our GlenOak students LOVE their clubs and activities and these are co-created with the student body at the beginning of each school year. Here's a list of some of our clubs and groups from this past year:

  • Minecraft Club
  • Sewing Club
  • Yearbook Club
  • Lego Club
  • Games Club
  • Playground Patrol
  • Library Helpers
  • Announcement Team

This coming year, GlenOak will be offering a co-operative games night two times per month in the evenings for all registered families.

Do you offer any special events throughout the school year for families?

Yes, we sure do! GlenOak places great importance on fostering a warm and welcoming school community ... really, a school family. As such, we purposely coordinate regular special events throughout the school year to encourage parent and student engagement and participation. This past year, GlenOak families enjoyed:

  • GlenOak's Annual Fall Fair
  • GlenOak's Annual Cafe Night
  • Education Week
  • Around the World Night
  • Annual Spring Picnic
